Extensive but important parking recommendations from
The Detroit Princess Riverboat official website below:

Thank you for choosing the Detroit Princess for your event!
The boat is located at 131 Atwater Street, Detroit, MI 48226.
You may also use 1 Civic Center Drive, Detroit, MI 48226.
Please note that Atwater St. may
be named in your GPS app as Nelson Mandella Drive.
The very west end of Atwater St. is named Steve Yzerman Drive
and it turns into Atwater Street near Huntington Place (old Cobo Hall).

We are docked behind Huntington Place and Hart Plaza.
Our recommended parking is the parking structure
on the corner of Atwater Street and Bates Street,
Detroit, MI 48226.
We recommend putting “Corner of Atwater Street and Bates Street, Detroit, MI 48226”
in your GPS app as
the parking structure doesn’t have an address for the Bates Street
entrance. The GPS will pin at the parking structure on the corner
Bates Street and Atwater Street, use this entrance.
On the opposite corner of the parking structure is the Port Authority. You may use their address of 130 Atwater Street, Detroit, MI 48226 in your GPS as well.
Upon entering the parking structure, push the Hourly Rate
button to receive your ticket. Leave the ticket in your car.
When exiting the parking structure after your cruise, scan the ticket, then scan our discount sticker you picked up from the desk on Deck 1 or the Gift Shop on Deck 2
during your cruise on the Detroit Princess Riverboat.

This discount sticker will give you $6 off your parking, leaving you to pay between
$22
- $28.00. If there are special events going on Downtown, the parking
may be priced higher. The parking structure only takes credit or debit cards.
To get to the boat from the parking structure on the corner of Bates Street
and Atwater Street, please use the RiverWalk
by crossing Atwater Street
next to the Port Authority
and turning toward the Ambassador Bridge.
You will then see the Detroit Princess Riverboat docked behind
Huntington Place (old Cobo Hall).

It is a flat, 3-5 minute walk to the Detroit Princess, about 1 block.
You will pass the 20 Atwater Detroit Police Station.
You will also pass by an Underground Railroad sculpture
and plaque with historical information before you reach the boat.

If you need to drop a guest off at the Detroit Princess Riverboat
who cannot walk the 200 yards from the parking structure,
use this address: 131 Atwater St, Detroit, MI 48226.

This will pin you next to the boat for drop off.
If you have any other questions or need more parking information,
please visit our website at: www.detroitprincess.com

then click “Getting Here” or call the office at: 313-631-2628

Holiday Huddle 2025!

Our Holiday Huddle at Aretha’s Jazz Cafe in the Music Hall was a great way to kick off the holidays.
Cass Tech Class of 1972 Fun Times Society was lit up on the Music Hall marquee to announce our event to all!
Classmates, Cassmates and friends braved the weather to reconnect and reminisce over great music, performed by
Kasan Belgrave and his quartet, good food and drinks.

Congratulations to all who won prizes last night, including Kathy Williams, winner of the Ugly Sweater Contest
and Andra Vann winner of the 50/50 raffle.

Welcome Cass Tech Class of 1972 and Friends

Class of 1972 and friends,
WOW!
That about sums up our feelings of elation, celebration, and gratitude for having shared our journey with so many of you last weekend.  Our “Simply the Best” 50th reunion weekend provided an opportunity to fulfill the desire to be amongst those who attended and cemented a bond that cannot be broken.

Maurice and I have taken a few days to reflect on our reunion weekend experience.  After over a year of planning to see the results of 100’s of hours of work was very emotional for us.  The comments, the accolades, compliments, gratitude and love given, tells us that our efforts were appreciated.  When a classmate says, “I had the best time of my life.”; it brings such a feeling of satisfaction because that is confirmation that WE DELIVERED!

People are asking how were we able to accomplish such a successful reunion weekend?  We can honestly say that prayer, having a vision (bringing the wow!), assembling the “Dream Team”; D’Anna, Ron, Carlton, Donna, Vanessa, Laval, Doug, Peggy, Pat, Sharon, and Robert, and add our supportive, loyal and dedicated classmates and friends equates to hosting an unforgettable reunion weekend that CANNOT BE DUPLICATED!

There are so many of you to thank; from the reunion committee to our generous sponsors, donors, and volunteers.     We also must thank Rasheedah Williams and staff of the Fort Shelby Doubletree Suites and Nicole and Shauna at the Roostertail.  They were awesome to work with!  We want to extend a very special acknowledgment to our classmate and SILVER SPONSOR, BEVERLY GIBSON!!!  Beverly, you are to be applauded for your generosity!!!

We also want to extend a very special thank you to Terri Berry and Monique Bryant
from The Triangle Society, for your involvement in making our reunion weekend
“Simply the Best”!  Your assistance is beyond measure. Thanks to Newton Gentry, Belinda Evans Ebio, Leonard Posey, Glenda Evans and Debra Gaston for your sweat equity. Thanks to Carlton Young for making the planning of this reunion your job!
Lastly, a very special and heartfelt thank you to our committee member, Vanessa Stafford, for donating so many of your talents and skills to creating our memorable reunion.

This 50th Cass Tech High School reunion celebration was officially our last reunion.
We can no longer wait 5-10 years to get together.  We are transitioning into
CT ’72 Fun Times Society
, which will allow us to come together for various events,
such as, birthday celebrations, concerts, cruises, and parties.

WE WILL FIND A WAY AND A REASON TO GET TOGETHER AGAIN SOON!

Wishing you all “Simply the Best” life has to offer!  God bless you all!

Til we meet again!

Love,
Corlyss & Maurice
